As a non-profit organization, much of our support comes from donations given through the Penick Village Foundation. In addition to donations, Penick Village receives its funds through various sources which include legacies, Medicare, Medicaid, entrance fees and monthly fees by the residents.
To provide assistance to residents in financial need to continue to live at Penick Village we have established the Benevolent Assistance Fund. Out of every $10 in our budget, $1 goes towards financial assistance for our residents to live at Penick Village. With 20% of our residents currently receiving financial assistance, we anticipate approximately $930,000.00 will be provided in financial assistance next fiscal year.
As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, we see our moral obligation to be a leader in dismantling the institutional mindset that is in place for caring for our elders. With an uncompromising commitment to deinstitutionalizing the aging experience, Penick Village has determined that the highest quality of care must include skilled nursing and assisted living residents cared for in smaller settings, Garden Cottages, where they truly live and not merely exist throughout their remaining days.
To bring to fruition our goal of deinstitutionalizing the aging experience and to transform the campus to meet the needs of current and future residents of Penick Village, the Penick Village Foundation Board of Trustees has approved a $10 million capital campaign to build and transform the Penick Village campus.
Gifts can be made in the form of check or money order payable to The Penick Village Foundation. If you would like your gift to support a specific program, please specify this on the check itself or within your correspondence sent with the check. If not noted, all unspecified contributions support the greatest need of Penick Village.
