Penick Village COO Honored with 25 Year Membership Award from IEHA

On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 Cheryl Futrell, Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Penick Village was recognized by the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) Tar Heel Chapter for 25 years of service and membership in its organization. Mrs. Futrell began her career with Penick Village more than 32 years ago within the Housekeeping Department and has maintained her membership in the IEHA Tar Heel Chapter since she joined in 1984.

“I am privileged to be a member of IEHA Tar Heel Chapter and grateful for their recognition of my 25 years of service and membership,” said Mrs. Futrell.

Mrs. Futrell has a long and dedicated service history with the IEHA Tar Heel Chapter. She served on their Board of Directors for 10 years. Her other positions within this organization include Secretary, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, Chair of the Education Committee, and Chair of the Membership Committee. Mrs. Futrell obtained the professional certification of Executive Housekeeper in January of 1989 and became a member of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association Peer Review Team in June 1991.

“I have found the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) Tar Heel Chapter to be a wonderful organization that is dedicated to helping housekeeping professionals obtain vital information through educational resources and other tools that has greatly assisted me over the years,” stated Cheryl Futrell, Chief Operating Officer. “In fact, it was the dedicated members of the Tar Heel Chapter that offered me insight and assistance that greatly helped us in opening the North Building here on the Penick Village campus.”

The International Executive Houskeepers Association (IEHA) is a 3,500-plus professional member organization for persons employed in facility housekeeping at the management level. The organization was founded in 1930 in New York City, and is now located in Westerville, Ohio, a suburb of the State’s capitol, Columbus.
